Project Description

This is a contract position.

The Attorney will be responsible for assisting General Counsel in providing continuing counsel and guidance on various legal issues and topics including legal implications of all such matters, as well as negotiating and writing contracts.

The ability to digest, understand and write contract language in a fast paced and ever-changing environment is essential to this position. Critical thinking, attention to detail, prioritization and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with little or no supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction 

Draft and review various legal agreements 

Advise applicable internal stakeholders and teams on a variety legal subjects and provide explanations and interpretations of legal language 

Advise of legal risk and business terms of applicable contracts and relationships 

Research legal issues that impact the company and identify legal risk as well as applicable regulations, statutes and/or case law 

Identify and implement proactive solutions to eliminate or mitigate legal risk 

Provide assistance in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs 

Identify merits and risks of any legal action threatened or filed against the company, work with General Counsel to develop a strategy and/or defense of such actions and advise and approve of any applicable settlements of such actions 

Deal with and develop solutions for complex, significant matters that cross legal and related areas/departments 

Oversee, direct, manage and delegate multiple projects and deadlines as assigned 

Initiate, manage and perform pre-litigation work to protect legal rights and avoid additional risk 

Monitor pricing, thresholds and minimums and seek executive approval as necessary for deviations 

Answer, explain and interpret contract-specific questions and concerns for other teams within the company 

Manage, maintain and audit contract and agreement database within internal systems 

Assist with contractual data verification, process establishment and tracking 

Create in depth legal relationship metrics and analyses 

Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization 

Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school 

Admitted or seeking admission to a State Bar 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

Exhibits technical and operational mastery of legal and contract issues 

Demonstrates excellence in a discipline and understands the implications of decisions and actions on segments of the organization outside one's immediate area 

Mathematical and analytical skills 

Process development skills 

Ability to understand and interpret daily business requirements
